Our Commitment to Privacy

At Radix Convert, we believe privacy is a fundamental right. This privacy policy explains exactly how we handle (or rather, don't handle) your data when you use our number system conversion tools.

TL;DR: We don't collect, store, or track any of your personal information or conversion data. Everything happens locally in your browser.
Information We Don't Collect

Unlike many websites, Radix Convert is designed to be completely privacy-focused. Here's what we explicitly do NOT collect:

  • Personal Information: No names, emails, IP addresses, or any identifying data
  • Conversion Data: The numbers you convert never leave your device
  • Usage Analytics: No tracking of which tools you use or how often
  • Cookies: We don't use any cookies or local storage for tracking
  • Third-party Analytics: No Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar services
  • Browser Fingerprints: We don't attempt to identify your browser or device
How Our Tools Work

Our conversion tools operate entirely within your web browser using JavaScript. Here's the technical breakdown:

  • Client-Side Processing: All calculations happen in your browser, not on our servers
  • No Data Transmission: Your input numbers and results never get sent over the internet
  • Offline Capability: Once loaded, our tools work without any internet connection
  • Open Source Algorithms: We use standard mathematical algorithms that anyone can verify
Security Note: Since all processing happens locally, your conversion data is as secure as your own computer. We literally cannot access your numbers even if we wanted to.
Server-Side Data

Our servers only handle the basic web hosting functions required to serve our static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files:

  • Web Server Logs: Basic server logs that include IP addresses (standard for any website)
  • CDN Logs: Content Delivery Network logs for performance optimization
  • Domain Registration: Public WHOIS data as required by domain registrars

These logs are used solely for website maintenance and security, and are automatically deleted after 30 days. They cannot be used to identify individual users or track specific conversions.

Third-Party Services

We use minimal third-party services, all focused on improving the user experience:

  • Tailwind CSS: For styling (served via CDN, no tracking)
  • jQuery: For JavaScript interactions (served via CDN, no tracking)
  • Font Awesome: For icons (served via CDN, no tracking)
  • Web Hosting Provider: For serving static files

None of these services track users, collect personal data, or have access to your conversion activities. They only serve the necessary files to make our website function properly.

If you choose to contact us via email, we only collect the information you voluntarily provide:

  • Email Content: Only what you write in your message
  • Email Address: Only if you provide it (though we recommend using a temporary email)
  • Response History: We keep conversation history only as long as needed to help you

We use secure email services and delete all conversation data after 6 months unless you request otherwise.

Data Security

Since your data never leaves your device, security is primarily your responsibility. However, we take these measures:

  • HTTPS Encryption: All connections are encrypted using SSL/TLS
  • Secure Hosting: Files hosted on secure, reputable web hosting providers
  • Regular Updates: We keep all software and dependencies up to date
  • No Database: We don't store any user data that could be compromised
Legal Compliance

Radix Convert complies with applicable privacy laws including:

  • GDPR: We don't collect personal data, so GDPR requirements don't apply
  • CCPA: No personal information collected means no CCPA obligations
  • COPPA: Our tools are educational and don't target children under 13
Changes to This Policy

If we ever change our privacy practices (unlikely, given our current approach), we'll:

  • • Update this page with clear explanations of changes
  • • Highlight significant changes in our update notes
  • • Never make changes that compromise user privacy
  • • Continue to prioritize client-side processing
